Does not seem that the mains cord is large enough to handle a load like that one would think it being so small things would melt in a short period of time BS!!!!

Yeah I took a dive for it! Even translated the article into English here too!
I have actually seen a similar sort of "compact welder" being demo'd on a Youtube vid somewhere in the far east that actually wasn't much bigger! I think it consisted of a power resistor in a metal box and croc-clips that you fixed onto your nearest mains power line! Having seen that made me think this might have been real too.

And, may i ask how those little TO220 transistor leads can handle 100A? This is obviously BS and the (super duper secret 3D pcb) really gives me a laugh

Ahh... I do not buy into that. Transistor would have to be HUGE to be handling all of that punishments (spikes, short-circuits, and obviously, overheating.) AND off 9V battery? Please....
I gotta agree with you guys about the LED display, pointless. (not all SMPS are efficient.)
But battery-operated welder part aren't unreasonable, it's the size that I do not believe. 9V battery would obviously explode even after short welding run, since it's only designed to be handling 1A without melting the insulators inside.
