I've asked my friend if he would prefer that I sell the tube or if he would prefer that I keep it and use it sometime in the future. I'm waiting for his reply, and I'm also looking to see if any cheap variacs come up that might be useful in a project involving this tube.

Maximum frequency is 15-20 MHz according to the 211Bs datasheet which is almost identical to the 211s, but the 211s frequency table refers to another datasheet that is not in the tube databases I use.

The 211 was actually designed as an audio tube. They were used in AM transmitter modulators, large PA systems on battleships and the like. I don't know if this explains why people will pay $50,000 for an Ongaku, though.
The 845 is similar only even bigger.
RF tubes usually have the plate connection brought out separately on top of the bulb. This is more convenient for a VTTC, since you don't risk arcing over the socket or tube base with high RF voltage.
