I disagree. You have a very clean and well though out layout, you are talented so just accept it ;p

Good Job!

With the studded caps on your final bridge design, it looks a bit like robot p0rn. A naked Fembot...hehe wink

Otherwise, amazing work and performance to match! I have been watching this project since I joined, it is great to see it come together so nicelly.

Like others have said, we demand full power! shades

I have some problems....
Fist i had just 16A to run it, and i was able kill fuses :)
second, my MMC is just 450nF and i can't run lot of primary current ( i was able to make like 3V 1;1000 CT, with 4,7R on it ( current meter shows just 3 led from 10 ( 10 led means 12V ).
So i guess i will add missing strings in MMC smile
and no ground sparks cry

enjoy

Hey Linas,

Just a few suggestions before you start adding to the MMC.

Based on what you are saying in regards to primary current, I would venture to suggest to slowly start increasing the inductance of the primary and you will surely start to see an increase in current and spark output. You will be absolutely amazed at what a difference a good tune will make to performance. With my experimental coil, I saw an increase in output every time I started testing and tuning. It really takes quite some time to find the sweet spot and I feel that I am coming quite close in the 2 weeks of tuning, I am still far from optimal.

Just like SGTC building the coil is important, but tuning is the critical part. You will find that optimum performance will be achieved when you find the sweet-spot of coupling in combination with primary tuning. Then you will be burning up that stairway. shades

Keep up the good work!

Best Regards,
brtaman

Try running in burst mode and tuning it a bit. Managed some groundstrikes with my own coil which had quite similar specs. It even had a smaller MMC with just 0.265uF. Running in burst mode would allow you to get a higher peak power without blowing the fuses smile

i don't have interrupter with burst mode.
all i can do is run really high turn on times...
Tuning is best at the moment, which i was able to find so far...

No, you need a short (low) on-time. Try 100-150us on-time and 100Hz repetition rate.

Probably 450nF is not enough to make the most of such a big coil...

I would try something around 900nF...
