Small update.
i just get new snubber, it's 1,5KA peak 800VDC 20uF ultra low L snubber designed for high power inverters, so now i have 24uF of snubbers :)
And also, soon PMMA will be cutted by CNC machine :)

Stunningly beautiful, no doubt!

Wow, that bridge is something else. If that thing needs more snubber i will eat this 9 watt stand-by 12v SMPS! And take a video!

You have the best circuit boards, along with best picture taking skills i have ever seen.

Thank you Arcstarter smile
Now how to make proper grounding for coil ? because i have everything inside metal box, and basic electronics are also in another aluminum box ( double protection smile )
so potential difference between IGBT and driver electronics zero should be limited to ground to 500V ( 1200Vmax )
i think use 500V varistor ( 12 in parallel, so 500V and 4000J 78KApeak )

Update ! MMC is ready so 8KV and 896nF, 120Arms and 5,144KApeak amazed

and

1269961475 1143 FT66676 P1540638

And here how platform looks :)

later will be better update smile

Some time watching the progress in the construction of this coil and I am very impressed by the precision execution of all parts. When do you plan a first light. i can not wait ;)

Hi Linas

Just a suggestion: if you want to push your MMC close to the max rating (in particular rms current) I would not enclose capacitors in a sealed cabinet as you have done. Moreover, your capacitors are very close each other, so, there is not possibility for heat dissipation. I recommend you to put a couple of fans (12VDC, few W) on one side of your MMC cabinet and drill some holes on the other side of the cabinet. Maybe I would also increase the space between the capacitors...

Regards

Luca

i will run some test with DRSSTC (powered by CM600 ) and if they can heat it up, i will add some fans, now ihave just pore 6KW to run it, so they will be just warm, ( and i will run just for 10min, not 5h )
