yeah i was thinking water /ethanol injection too, like WW2 airplanes. but you could use nitromethane too, just hope you dont throw rods...or kill some precious plastic seal...

I have a turbo here if anyone wants it for experimentation, its a TDU 5 from an old Land Rover.

Can you see/feel the blades?.....does it spin freely?

Actually, it may be a bit big for my intended application. I may be better off with two smaller blowers.

Just a note . . .

You do realize that the power required to operate a typical centrifugal type supercharger (i.e. Vortech off-the-shelf units) is about 40-50 HP.

Assuming a motor with 100% efficiency, you are talking about 29kW to 38kW of power just to turn that thing with an electrical motor. Thats a big motor and at 12V, you'd be drawing 2000-3000 Amps!

Yea it was a non practical Idea that died out a few years ago I was just amazed it is getting all of those views and the name calling is hysterical on some of the comments.

only the first 9 is accurate (the hundredths the place ) after that the decimal places are bogus. You'll need to understand dimensional analysis to see why...
