Can you poast a picture. the tuning can be tricky and might envaulve some tryal and error. There also might be a point where the spark length will only get so long(1.5ft) with 1Kw. If I was going start I would try adding or removing capacitance to get me in the ball park so a small selection of caps vaues around 1000pf are handy. After that point picking tap points in your primary should give you fine tuning. keep in mind that when the unit sends out a spark it will lower the resonant frequency of the secondary so tuning the primary a little low will help. When Dr. Spark tuned his quad he had to remove one of his caps and spend hours on tuning. What kind of equipment do you have to aid you?

Hey thanks you guys.
@Dr. Spark, i cannot believe i didn't get what you meant about the RF cap. I was thinking filament, as you could see :P. That would put me at 20nf minimum, which is .02uf. I was using a 6.8nf cap, bit it blew as io was getting arcs everywhere that i shouldn't get them. But the reason for that is to get the sparks the polarity had to be opposite on the power supply, which makes no sense to me. And that is what i was talking about in my last sentence, tuning with primary tap for the tank cap
@teravolt, i will post a picture in a minute, but no laughing please. I know about tuning, as i have made a bunch of very small vttc's and put an 811A vttc together about 10 different times, requiring tuning. As for equipment, i have next to nothing. I was without a meter for about 3-4 months before yesterday! Or the day before, what ever.
I can tune just fine, but the doubler was the problem. I don't make that stupid of mistakes too often, i hope not *fiery explosion in the background*.
Anyway, i shall go take some pictures of my horrible setup :P.
