it might be shadows that are throwing the picture off. There are bumps and things I have to smooth out by hand and its an awful frustration! I am gluing it together right now.
Its easier and better to work from larger to smaller, that way you curl the tube and it bends really evenly.
I'm glad that you guys appreciate the new look and that's why I started the thread, but try not to praise me so much because I haven't really done anything special here. I just wanted to show you guys what I was up to and that its looking better then it did before, and some of its new parts.

As you can see, the coil isn't perfect, but I straightened out some of the bumps after I noticed them.
Here you can see the strike rail and how its dealt with. The gap is merely shrunk over to make it a bit prettier. The strike ground lead is silicone wire for its flex and will connect to my RF ground point, along with the secondary gnd point.
It is going to CSULB tomorrow to have its plexi end caps installed, hopefully the secondary wound, wiring, and possibly a filter board fabricated out of plexi.
The first few turns of the primary were supposed to be shrunk for insulation, but it was too large. I had to buy another coil of tubing and start from scratch. It was a real frustrating mess because I had to go from inside to outside in order to guarantee I didn't kink the first few turns badly. If you decided to feed the first turn through last, you would end up with an enormous kink.
