That was a great video, well done Peter!! I had calls after it aired from friends who know a bit about what I build, and they were like "did you see that bloke on tv!". I thought it was great to see a hobby we all enjoy here at 4HV, given some exposure and shown on national TV where everyone gets an insight into it. Hope to see you on TV again soon.

It turned out reasonably well I thought. The sparks appear over bright and the star effect is added I think but still gives a nice effect. It's the first time I used a good number of CD's to be burnt. It's amazing to watch from my end as there is a sudden starfield of tiny aluminium flakes generated. You don't see that in the video.
Had lots of goes at the capacitor bank explosion which was 5kJ although could have tried more. Lots of black spots ontheback of my white shirt.
I wore a shirt and tie because that was what Discovery channel suggested originally and I had sent them photos of many options. The contrast between sensibly straight and crazy was what they wanted.

There is a typo in the title. If you change it the search engines will pick it up better.

oh and do I have your permission? lol

Nice video. How-come sparks to your hand don't cause you any reaction, yet other people feel its very painful?

Its not the pain but rather a shock tongue if you experience it a few times you know what to expect and you dont jump back.

Hopefully I still have that reflex so when I register even the slightest electrical shock, I automatically throw my hands to the back tongue Better break something than to die from electrocution...
