besides C1 and C2, do you have a additional filter cap after the mains rectifier?

The caps serve two purposes 1) filter the DC voltage 2) create a "center tap" for the transformer primary. Caps from PC psu's work well.

Really nice case!

How I got the same result as Jan's design with a TL494??

I made a pulse width modulated one, but doenst sounds that good and the volume is quite low.. So I read here on the forum that Frequency Modulated drivers are better for sound and I tried to find some SG3525 to use but I didnt. I live in Brazil so I'm stacked with the TL494.

To connect the audio input circuit to TL494 pin 6 will work?
There is a performance reason to choose SG 3525?
