Can you list some more bands of a similar style?
np!
Darkmoon (CH), System Shock, Sirrah, Persefone, Cadacross, Kiuas, Finntroll
Also of one of the classics, for the chance you've missed it, check out Summoning!
From less heavy stuff (read: not death/black/doom ;) ) I like Xandria, also Tarja's own stuff (new Nightwish sux ass lol (always wondered why the word "success" sounds all the same as "sux ass" btw :D) ).

ps Gallhammer: don't let their look fool ya :D Link2

Metal, metal, metal.

Iron Maiden
Megadeth
Judas Priest
AC/DC (of course...)
Sabaton
Children of Bodom
Stratovarius
Slayer
Dio
Deep Purple
Nightwish (older songs, with Turunen)
Manowar
Pantera
Metallica (some, older songs)

If not those, then something more like these:
CCR
Led Zeppelin
Tesla (of course)
Queen
etc...

And if I feel like breaking something I listen to industrial metal, like:
Deathstars
Turmion Kätilöt (hilarious)
Ruoska
etc...

Holy crap, that's a long list. I'm pretty picky about the music I listen to. cheesey

Pretty much everything but rap and certain country stuff.

Blue Man Group, Koto, Laserdance, Incubus, Breaking Benjamin, Megadeth, Metalica, AC/DC, Led Zeppelin, The Killers, Weezer, Blink 182, VNV Nation, Linkin Park, System of a Down (some), Beatles, Weird Al, John Tesh, James Taylor, Herbie Hancock, Dragonforce, Dream Theater, and many more.

Of course, techno/trance/electro has a bit higher priority over the other genres, but I like 'em all. I even like classical, but I don't listen to it as frequently. My favorite genre is probably Italo Disco, aka 80's electro/spacesynth.

Ok, mind has cleared a bit now.

Some Mindless Self Indulgence, afraid to say it due to the lyrics and stuff.
AC/DC
A few from Korn.

That's about all i listen to regularly.
I love all kinds of music and depends on my mood. Try to keep an open mind and listen to new material all the time.

All in all, could not function without tunes close by. First time that i have a nice sound system on the bike and sure makes time pass much better with tunes.

Now we are getting our coils to sing.
Music calms (or soothes) a savage beast! Not saying you are a beast tongue but you get it.

Turmion Kätilöt (hilarious)
Hehe, System of a Down lyrics are funny, almost all the time. Like "Banana banana banana banana terracotta
Banana terracotta terracotta pie"

:P

Wired were the eyes of a horse on a jet pilot
One that smiled when he flew over the bay...
Yeah I remember my System days. That was before they became mainstream of course. wink

I listen to different stuff, and seldom more than a band or two at a time. I can't stand rap or techno in any variation, expect in the context of game music where it's alright. Every other genre goes down fairly easy.

Over the last year or two it's been mainly:
Skid Row
Guns n' Roses
Warrant
Mötley Crüe
Tenacious D
Lot's of ragtime (see Johnny Maddox, awesome name.)
...and piles of songs from the real deal classic rock bands, Pink Floyd, Eric Clapton, ACDC, on and on the list goes....

Iron Maiden
Scorpions
Dragonforce
Nightwish
Queen
Ratt
Slaughter
oh and Motley Crue!!!! there latest album impressed me greatly

and of course system of a down!

It's cool to see that so many people on this forum like the same music I do, a lot of hard rock and metal!

Pretty much anything with a minor key and at least semi good vocals will allow my mind to wander!!!

Just curious does anyone else listen to music while reading?
