For an SSTC, use your grounded earth on your power plug. But only connect the secondary to the point your power plug hits your SSTC (at the terminals)

Also, don't let the arcs strike anything in your house, otherwise currents will be finding their way all through your house wiring to complete the loop back to your SSTC.

However, if you have a regular SSTC, its not really a big deal. Its only a big deal with SGTCs and larger DRSSTCs as they peak currents are very high which can induce large voltage spikes across sensitive equipment in your house wiring.

this is the pll part

1231080259 1854 FT61106 Afb077

this is the UCC part

i accedently blew my bridge up while transporting to my room to have a descent ground some parts moved and made contact, i didn't notice it till the fireworks began it destroyed the Fet's and the diodes that protect them from kickback (MUR880) angry i hope they have those in stock tomorrow tongue

//legal double post

i made some new discoveries (still with the bad grounding) im gonna change to mains ground friday when i may run it in my room. (my mother is lightning allergic) we once got struck by it few years ago.

-when i hit the 100K trimmers with my screwdriver the spark starts to act different (become louder) is this normal ????

-also i have such a screwdriver with a light in it to see if something has some tension over it. Well it lights up from over a meter or 2-3 is this normal that it still lights up at this distance ??

In fact, you should keep all the control electronics in a shielded case. The fact that your indication srewdriver lights up means a high voltage is induced on you by the capacitance divider effect. By the way this effect is very unsafe as even running on very low power levels the coils can induce quite a high volatge on the nearby objects including yourself, which makes it possible to get an arc burn while touching any grounded device, use a neon bulb or that screwdriver to check for the safer areas. Holding a grounded remote controller too close to the coil will make quite heavy currents flow through your arm, so it may get pretty harmfull as well.

the elektronic's are in a aluminum case with holes to adjust the trimmers

i always wonderd where those little sparks came from on my garagedoor and on my doorknob thanx for explainin

i still can't run my SSTC at high power level's yet i still need to receive my kickback diodes but if there arrived i hope i can get my pll to lock. cheesey

Link2 Lets talk about heavy currents through an arm suprised

so the current that coil generates from the SSTC can be the same one flowing down your arm. but thats horrofying a flame arc needs like 10mA to 30mA to be a flame if that flows down the arm's it will feel like hitting line voltage or worse.

and as it can float remotly without even touching the SSTC.
will it then still be safe to approach the coil at higher power levels ???
