Got a pretty good dose of snow yesterday, here in Orono, Maine. I couldn't even open the front door all the way. Had to squeeze out and shovel it out from the outside. Looks like about 12 inches or so all together, but it drifted around two feet in many places.

I spent the New Year by the countryside at Eastern Finland. There was a plenty of snow and it was freezing.

Since we know that snow flakes grown in an electrostatic field mutate and take on hitherto unseen forms, I wonder how much cloud charges play a part in the formation of the customary varieties of 'normal' snow.

That is just absolutely beautiful. Actually reminds me of a pic that i took. Or, maybe i did not take it but i was in this small field sort of thing and it somehow looked like that first picture.
