Richie Burnett and I also use the DC blocking capacitor in series with the SSTC primary. The purpose of it is to save your FETs from destruction if the gate drive duty cycle isn't exactly 50%.

If the primary capasitor is just for AC cupling what method does everybody use to find it. Should Xc be 10 times Xl or is it less than Xl or do you just try something out. Insted of many capasitors why not use one. should Xc be a pulse type capasitor with low internal inductance and resistance? thanks N.B.
