The resonant capacitor should go parallel with primary.

Also dont forget the slow turn on fast turn off gate mod (just a diode and resistor) or you will blow your 50 fets.. XD

Also I think you would be better of just going for a half bridge and running of rectified mains, its not that complicated.

What Fets did you get ? how much did you pay ?

I got lucky enogh to win a bid on 100 irf630's for $19 us with postage thats 19cents a fet..XD

Yeah a H bridge off rectified mains is the way to go for power. But i recomend to first play around with these lower supply voltage designs. They are much safer to experiment with but still put out a reasonable amount of power. And they don't fail as catastrophically as a bridge on mains (Too much "experimentation" and sudenly the mosfets or igbts might explode in to pecis ,literally!)Also not to mention that on mains driven ones its unsafe to touch the circuit because of mains. I use a isolation transformer for a bit more safety with that. That means the circuit is floating off ground so it dissent shock you that fast (But dont let HV find ground)

I got 50 IRFZ48V 60V 72A for $20 and shipping was $6 i also got 100 555 timers for $20 the mosfets i got probably would not work off mains they would just blow up. I just got the fets today and they don't really get hot at 36v for about 5 minutes of work on my zvs i get nice juicy sparks with them.

Can u get me a schematic of the diode and resistor gate mod? Be much appreciated for help on this subject.

Sorry for misleading, the cap goes in parallel with the primary. I must have just been thinking of class-E. Well, anyway here is the schematic(it is Dr. Kilovolt's AKA jmartis2, not mine): Link2

Thank u Arcstarter for the diagram my new mosfets work pretty good for my zvs I can actually use a 36v drill battery bank and get amazing arcs the best for me so far it makes me proud of my work.

Of course you should be proud :P.

If you have a ZVS driver, why did you want a 555 driver?

Well if you use a bridge and a higher input voltage it can put out even more power. But they can be capable of frying a flyback with too much power, thats where homemade transformers step in, but they are not good at producing a very high voltage(unless its very well constructed with vacuum potting and stuff) but on the other hand they can put out a lot of current and handle a lot of power if the core is up to it

I think it is great! Very nice sparks. Just took 2 irfp250 mosfets out of the junk box, so later tonight i should have it running. I will then use some of my small high voltage caps and tiny arsg(adjustable via PWM) and make a tesla coil. cheesey I have been planning it for awhile. The problem is that flybacks do not like running coils due to hf hv kickback, and the caps may not like running tesla coils. Also, the rsg may arc back to the motor and kill the pwm angry
