It is hard to see on the plate meter but that is only 2kv @ 1 amp in the picture. Issue is out of tune it is drawing a lot of power…………50 amps @ 150 volts off the mains.
Wait, you got those sparks with just 2kv? If that is what you are talking about, wow, that is amazing! I wonder what the sparks will look like with the full voltage in.
Even though i have somewhat little experience with coils, i know how much tuning effects VTTC's. With 811A, it is the same.
Keep it up Dr. Spark! I will surely look forward to tuned coil, as much so as my own SGTC!

Wow, hot output! How are you tunning? Do you intend to re-make the primary? From the picture seems that you use something between 26-28 turns, now, with 2 kV, with only a few taps at the top of the primary. Or you want to increase the primary capacitance?
Perhaps more tubes does not mean more efficienty than a big f...ing tube. I remembered Steve Ward with his single 833 A VTTC after building the dual tube VTTC, with almost the same accomplishment.
If the current is too high for a single coil it would be an interesting idea to break the secondary into half and build a twin VTTC (I didnt see something like that on net yet), each secondary with his primary, a single feedback. This will allow much turns on primaries to help tuning.

Post all the modifications you make Dr Spark on the forum, daily is possible (to not forget something). There will be very helpfull for others (including me) and will give some ideas about VTTC tunning.

Amazing work, just perfect. For me this falls into the "Fantasy and Fairy tales" category, as the cost of such project would be 1000 times the cost of ALL of my projects

o_0 RED CAPS! May I suggest you to parallel the "mid points"? This way you can get more capacitance if the caps are not perfectly matched.

Very nice!! Ahhh, so nice looking, and nice sparks and everything!
Pictures of pulse and CW mode, note sparks are now longer indicating very close to tune. Once all is tuned and bugs out will roll outside for max spark length.
Are you absolutely certain this is not maxed already?? There is no way the secondary can take any more than that!
