Corona causes RF interference, so you could try bringing a radio and see if you pick up a lot of buzzing. This might not be a very reliable test though.

If the night-vision equipment is sensitive to deep blue or UV-A in any way there is no question about it, it will work. So I suggest you test it with some light source around 300-420 nm like a UV/purple LED to find out. As you say if there is no light to record your test will be useless.
