You were such a HAM….HEE HEE. BTW is that a SWAN you are talking on SSB? neutral

Yep, that was my old Swan 500C. Someone was nice enough to loan me one for a few years. The thing drifted like all get out, but it had a brand new set of perfectly matched 6LQ6 tubes in it. The peak reading watt meter I had actually indicated a little over 500W PEP out. I miss that rig. It's no match for my FT-857, though.

It handled SSB nicely, I did code from time to time, and I even used to ragchew on 80m in AM. Not bad for a rig much older than I!

getting settled in? hope everything is okay, that looked like one hell of a fire.
I would have been totally devastated, I have no money for anything right now... it all goes to bills so if I got wiped out... that'd be it... end of story.
But it looks like you're getting back on your feet which is good.

Matt is such a drama queen. The explosion happened in a restaurant across the street or something, and his apartment never got a scratch.

LOL! I've posted pics of my room before, and nothing much has changed. Didn't mean to create quite that impression, Hazmatt. wink

The gas explosion took out the first two floors of my building and the restaurants behind it. I'm on the 8th floor and everything including my oscilloscope is fine. smile
