Awesome. Good to see a Teslathon over in the CZ. How far from Kutna Hora was the town you held the Teslathon?
About 200km. I went from Prague - ~260km and guys who take me by car started from Karlovy Vary - ~400km. This was not the first session, there was another one 2.7.2008 but this was the biggest and 1st which I visited.

I am a little curious about the rotary spark gap for the large SGTC. It only has two electrodes in the wheel spaced 180 degrees apart. This must be to keep the dwell as short as possible but dose it really work better that way ? 8000 rpm is really fast for something that big! Roger

I cannot tell you much details because I'm not the author of design of this SG :) Currently there are only 2 electrodes switching every 180deg but there are 6 holes (total) ready to achieve higher BPM. He tried it with all contacts mounted in but power supply was not able to deliver enough power (maybe due to doublers) to quickly charge tankcap so it resulted to shorter streamers and this is because he reduced BPM by simply removing the contacts. Yeah it run really fast but he is studying machine engineering so I hope he knows what he's doing. It's calculated to withstand 12000RPM.
