I got some hot glue stuck on (and through) my clothes (dont ask how). It looks impossible to remove, heating it up only makes it sticky. Maybe it will help soaking it in something, but in what?
Anyone else ever had succesfuly removed hot glue from clothes?

(just a thought) but might a some liquid (hot enough to melt the hot glue) that hot glue could dissolve in work? I do not know what the composition of hot glue is (it would also depend if it was high temp or low temp hot glue)... (/just a thought)

It all depends on the TYPE of cloth & type of hot glue. Some materials will allow for the use of an additional drop of glue used as a "handle" to pull the rest off.....but if it's in the weave that may not be an option. You MAY be able to simply boil the cloths and the glue might float to the surface after an extended period of time.
I would NOT put those cloths in a dryer with other clothes as that level of heat may get the stuff all over. One rational way of dealing with this is to find a solvent for that type of hot-melt glue. Methylene chloride MAY work....but it's nasty to work with. (use usual precautions, etc) There may be some solvent in patent literature dealing with the type of glue involved.....LONG term boiling is your best bet. Let it stand after and DON'T stir until you've gotten the floating glue OUT of the water obviously.

I'll take your hot glue and raise you some superglue. That stuff, never *ever* comes out of clothes, all you can try is rinsing it with acetone. Don't even try to melt it out, it won't work.

Oh yes -- hot-melt glue is absolutely FANTASTIC for bonding fabric products! Soak in acetone in a sealed container and agitate; it might be soluble enough to come out after a few days if you're lucky.

Meh, normal CA glue (or super glue) is worse than hot melt or epoxy. It completly soaks in, even makes the clothes stiff enough that the fabric will crack along the length of the spot of glue. Don't ask ;)

wow you guys have messed up some shirts bad! the worst I have ever done to a shirt is accidentally burn a hole through it and into my skin with a lens while inspecting it in the light... and aren't there solvents for many super glues?

I agree, cyanoacrylic is crazy at bonding fabric. Also, it becomes very hot.
