Beh, I'm convinced they all do it to look good in Spandex, and the hair in wounds thing is a cover story.

I've been a keen mountain biker since I was a teenager, I've crashed hundreds of times, and my hairy knees always healed up fine. All the MTB riders I know wear baggy shorts and have hairy legs too, well the guys at least smile

As for Michael Phelps, anyone who can eat 10,000 calories a day gets my respect whether they can swim or not suprised Link2 I'm pretty much the same height and weight as him, but I was only ever a mediocre swimmer. Maybe I should have eaten more eggs.

Holy crap-
Breakfast: Three fried egg sandwiches; cheese; tomatoes; lettuce; fried onions; mayonnaise; three chocolate-chip pancakes; five-egg omelette; three sugar-coated slices of French toast; bowl of grits; two cups of coffee

He probably eats 10 eggs altogether with the pancakes and french toast included. I though my 4 egg denver omelets were a healthy portion *blush*.

I had twin semi-pro cyclists in my class who shaved their legs, which we made fun of, and they said it was to prevent getting hair in wounds if they crashed. Like you say it's also the thing to do, they said there was enough peer pressure that no-one would dare not do it.

in my school lots of guys shave their legs, including more than half of my mates, I personaly dont do it as, my dad would constantly be calling me gay, and this leg shaving thing is just another trend that will pass, just like one time when every one was getting their ear pearced cheesey

Womens Vault, Alicia Sacrimone. . . Robbed!
She did 2 vaults, and landed in bounds both times with a slight hop.
The slight hop on landing was the only fault.

China gets to fall down to her knees, plant both hands on the landing mat, and gets a silver medal?
WTF???? mad
Peoples Republic of Korea gets to step out of bounds twice, with double hops, and gets the gold?
WTFx2!!!!!!! mad

This is robbery.
It is plain that the gymnastics competition is rigged.

I don't know if you guys watched it, but WTF?!

I agree the scoring seems rigged against the USA...Seems we can only do well when its a race of some sort, or an event in which there are NO judges opinions....

Oh well...At least the greatest of them all came from the USA! Go Phelps! America's hero...

Frankly, I feel good about it. The contestants' families will be allowed to continue to work and stay out of prison. wink
What's a gold medal if it helps keep someone out of the social torture chamber, their family has a roof over their head, & a child may continue to go to school? If you ever want to learn about unique "pageants" learn about North Korea's Mass Games..... I think there is a documentary about it.....It's frankly psychotic.

Many, many years back people stopped taking the Olympics seriously. I know many people would WANT to think of the honor in honest competition.....but it's not there anymore; we ll know that.
