Its funny how the US media portrays China as 'evil' or bad because they filter what their citizens can view, and attempts of cyber espionage/terrorism against the US. Who, when asked if the US, or any other country would not have a identical program for defensive and offensive reasons?

Its funny how hypocritical people are, and how they deflect whenever someone raises a point against them they can't defend against. No wonder the ignorant American masses fall prey to scientology....

There, there, aonomus. Every country has morons who fall for religi-, erhm, things people in this day and age should know better than to believe. Governments and media can move the masses to whatever may benefit their own political agenda. Talking about it here doesn't help because we're all aware of this, the only thing we can do is stay critical and point stuff like this out to others who aren't as critical to the media or government. No matter what you do it happens, what you should be worrying about is which political agenda suits you the best.

In fact the surface boundary with water is a critical area and is hence the popularity of the shark skin suits. Think of penguins and otters as other examples of a non smooth boundary between animal and water. Similarly surface bumps have been considered in aerodynamics as well.
All stuff I know nothing about really....

Actually, its not for going faster. Just as in cycling where the athletes shave their legs, its to help facilitate proper massage after training / racing. Having hair can be quite painful and detrimental to getting a good massage.

Of course, most cyclists shave their leg, even without the massage, because its "the thing" to do, at least for roadie race weenies.

Hey, lets leave the USA, Religion, and Politics out of things? Science cannot explain everything, politics leads to dead end arguments, and the USA isnt all that bad...Yes we have our problems, like everyone else!

So how about that Phelps guy? smile Greatest of all time? How would you like to be the greatest of all time at something?

I had twin semi-pro cyclists in my class who shaved their legs, which we made fun of, and they said it was to prevent getting hair in wounds if they crashed. Like you say it's also the thing to do, they said there was enough peer pressure that no-one would dare not do it.
