Hey guys,

Marko just alerted me to these super cool looking mini-block IGBTs from IXYS. They only sell them 30+ at a time

Link2

They appear to be better than the 40N60 minibricks from Fairchild: they have lower junction to case thermal impedance, lower gate charge, and switch basically just as fast. Id probably have to jack up the cost something like 50 cents per part to help cover my initial shipping cost and packing stuff.

So 50 bucks for a full-bridge, seems pretty decent to me, though thats about what it costs for silicon for a CM300 bridge :P.

So anyway, just testing the waters here to see if we can make up an order for 30 of them, id probably go in for 4-8 of them myself, everyone else will have to make up the rest. International shipping shouldnt be a big deal, and i can take payment through paypal or money orders. Let me know if you're interested!

would you ship to denmark?

Does Denmark have really high shipping taxes or anything (you should be telling me if its a problem)? Otherwise its all the same to me, i go to our post office and fill out an international shipping form. It costs a little more, but sending a couple of these little things should not be terribly expensive. I think i usually have to say that it was a "gift" worth $0 to help avoid making the recipient pay absurd taxes to their country.

So it looks like we will probably exceed the 30 minimum order.

How about this, im gonna put in LAST CALL for getting in on this order (just so that i dont end up buying like $1000 in IGBTs). You guys have 1 week from today to determine what you want and let me know in this thread. So i will plan to put in the order on August 21st.

Woah, now I feel flattered after my find gets such an attention! cheesey

Hope you guys can get them working - I don't have money for them now but they just caught my eye.

Shipping from USA to Europe can get expensive easily though.

If there were lots of interested Europeans it would probably be better if another group buy was organized I guess, so package goes between continents only once.

Doesn't digikey require multiples of 30 or is it just a minimum of 30?

Also, can you ship to Canada while claiming the item to be a gift (value $0)?

As long as items are shipped as gift or non commercial value samples (marked 0$ value) they seem to go free of customs, else its 30$ + 25% of the package value :(

Well, its stated as a minimum quantity, so id assume its not a multiple of 30. Im not sure if digikey imposes this or if its IXYS.

I believe i can ship to Canada as a $0 gift as well.
