Hello, I would like to buy a high quality ZVS flyback transformer. I just do not want to work go around and buy all the parts...

I am not aware of the duty cycle on these devices- but I would just like for someone to have one made for me, with high quality, "optimized" parts.

It would be nice if i could get a msn, aim, yahoo ect. to talk to the person about, too! Offering $40...

Nice casing would be great, with good heat-sinking.

I have not looked a t the price of these parts, so please, let me know if my price seems ridiculous!

You are supposed to have at least 15 posts before posting in the sale and trade forum right?

By optimized parts do you mean using the IRFP250?

The duty cycle of the sign wave? 50% right? since the MOSFETs are switching at 0V?

The circuit isn't all that hard or expensive to build yourself and also the MOSFETs don't make all that much heat since they are switching at 0V. You can get heatsinks from most appliances like TVs and monitors. They also come with a flyback.

The flybacks you get from TVs and the like don't like high powers for a very long time. They melt and stuff. Winding your own flyback isn't too hard from what I have heard.

This may be usefull to look at to get you started.

I guess you could get parts/a kit from here. The parts shouldn't be all that expensive.

By the way, it's ZVS flyback transformer driver.

Did Pete ever have those boards made?

I have actually yet to have someone make an order for them tongue

I am set up to do boards right now, it might be time to do a run of zvs boards. Same pricing as before applies, should be able to ship by 8/14

If you DO make the boards....count me in for at least three or four. I was thinking of doing that, but I'm too new at this & my CB design stinks --- but if enough people want them and you have good source..... I think you could sell a run of two dozen FAST!

If you do make the boards, count me in for 2-3 depending on pricing.

Also are these boards self-made or professional made, and what is the cost per board?

oops, do you guys think i'm selling these? i know i have under 15 posts, or whatever is required to post in the sell and trade forum- but I was wanting to get one of these, and am not making them.

Unless you guys hijacked my thread, which i dont really care if you did, and are talking about "..."'s zvs driver. If you guys are talking about that, could you point me in the direction of "..."'s zvs flyback driver?

Thanks, and sorry for posting in this section for a second time... I just wanted to ensure there were no confused people thinking i would make them one of these drivers for them, than not contacting them or anything...

No, everyone's pretty well on target here. and if someone has a completed unit, $40 sounds reasonable. but to honestly address your post.....the term "optimized" is a very subjective element. It's a hobbyist's board (4HV) so virtually everyone's interested in making the thing themselves. But I'm pretty sure someone will have a completed unit they would sell. It's simply that if you are just starting out, your work is not that great (like mine). I wouldn't dream of selling it. It's sloppy, etc. If a guy is tight and has a good eye (& some talent), you generally want to keep what you make....... But maybe you'll get lucky & someone will need a bit of cash.

TDU made a cute one due to the unique attachment of the heat-sink to the rest of the unit; it was quite small and really compact. I've seen a lot of them soldered up on a wooden board or a drilled out small piece of acrylic. I don't think anyone would sell such a hobby-piece because they just knocked it out so that the emphasis was on the functionality of the unit. It looks (for all intents and purposes) like a bunch of parts stuck on a board in a haphazard fashion. The VERY few engineering oriented fellows who put together extremely professional HV stuff do it exclusively for themselves and their own pride in workmanship.

And that's exactly the point of the later discussion. If "..." makes some boards we could put some together that would be a heck of sight better than working off a four inch section of proof board with a heat sink jutting out at odd angles.
