some websites like TI have sampaling for education. I emailed some companies for a project im doing, and i got more then $1K worth in stuff. Its better to email rather then sample, so they are ok with it.

I'm not sure these parts would 'work', work being able to withstand some accidental removal of the workpiece from the coil (which typically causes the semiconductors to go 'poof').
Dude, that's what electronic control systems are for! If you're building a device worth 100 bucks just in silicon at least spend a toonie on some op-amps and discretes for the protecting the thing.
Part of the 'project' if it ever gets far enough would be getting undergrad chem students to test it. Undergrads have a strange way of being able to destroy anything with safety features regardless of how well they're built.... I could be wrong, but I could either sense the change in resonant frequency of the coil, or simply sense the absence of the crucible by other means (opto/mechanical).
I told my friend who was nagging me about this and she seems to get the point of why companies allow sampling...

Sample parts are the best form of targetted advertising there is. No need to feel guilty - they can always say 'no'. I know one or two parts have been taken off the 'free' list, but you can still buy a few very cheap. Some places simply ask you to pay for shipping, some limit your monthly sample qty.
