I just wanted to let you know that my 6" coil has been getting a little more TLC over the summer. I added yet another transformer to my PSU - and woah! I had to duck! I'm getting close to optimum performance now - I think I might have to get yet another transformer just to satisfy my curiosity. :) Just follow the link below to see my video on youtube.

You can easily gain some more inches by getting a smoother toroid. One way of doing this is to use an innertube as your shape and fiberglass it. After this you can use bondo or epoxy and cover this with thick aluminum foil. This has been an proven method ... The other is by making a wire mesh using an innertube as a base. Both seem to work well. Dryer ducting works but is lossy due to the sharp points.

Another great video of the Tesla Coil - I made some improvements by adding 2 more turns on the primary and a bigger second top load. Have a look when you get the chance.

I certainly hope you add some more transformers so you can run this unit 240vac 30A !! I bet you will see BIGGER sparks? 360mA --- Be aware you will have to upgrade those 100W resistors for something bigger... leave the caps. Remember a smooth toroid will allow for a single breakout point.

Yeah, well I'm planning on stripping the power supply down and re vamping the wiring - maybe add 2 more NSTs for shits and giggles. 12 kV @ 360mA should do nicely with a SRSG :)
