Honestly, that is what I'm pretty much looking for right now. A friend of mine had purchased a board off the net a few years ago, Im going to try to get a picture of it for you guys just to show what Im approx. after.
I've been talking to another member of the forum, he said "recommend self resonant SSTC so you can always control the output by interrupter. And this way you can connect any secondary. Any other driver would need alot of adjustment with different resonators." It sounds fairly straight forward as far as tuning goes (although I may just be new, hah), but it sounds right up my alley for a beginner for tuning. What do you guys think about a system like that?

I have 10 prototype SSTC boards at home. I could sell you a prebuilt one. I was planning on making a kit with them. I made a few changes to them and will reorder in bulk after I get rid of the 10 I have, the sooner the better. They are high quality and everything is on one board. I will post a pic tonight. The final versions will be top notch.
Tom540, are those boards of the self-tuning type that one of the other board members were talking about? My main concern is DC input and variable spark control, are any of these features onboard? I can do a bit of modification on my end, however just curious :p

Hi Ryan,
They are made to mount inside an ATX power supply case. DC input is on board which connects through blade connectors and they are self oscillating. All you do is connect ac in, run a wire from secondary base through ct and to ground which would be simply case ground or if in a homemade box to earth ground on the ac input. They also have a connector for a fan. You can adjust bps and pulse width or you can connect a jack to the case and run your own interrupter to it.
