I'd die to learn the Tocatta and Fugue in Dm!
I saw someting totally awsome at the NAMM show. A DSP 4 manual and treddle Pipe Organ. It used 8 dual P4 servers all ethernet to a central subsystem. 17" touch screens with ALL THE STOPS, you just touch the stop to pull it out or push it in. Musical instruments including 8 drum kits! woodwinds! GUITAR! I was in total shock. I talked with the salesmen trying to comprehend the amount of work their engineers put into it, and he said that "Oh this, this is just the throw-away. What they're working on now is simply amazing."
I wanted to play with it, but my keyboard skills are too trivial for that. It sounded so nice, but I don't have $100,000 right now for an organ. Maybe next year.

I said anything "By" Bach, not anything "But". Huh huh, Bach is cool.
When you say you "Completed" those pieces, do you mean that you learnt to play them on the piano? That's pretty impressive
Okay. I guess i should learn to read!
Yes, i have learned them all (of course it will take a lifetime to really learn them musically ) and just recently finished up the Goldberg. Actually, i've been wanting to do the Goldberg for some time now, but it was just until last year that the person i was stuyding with let me play them. Until that time, she didn't consider me mature enough to take on such a complex piece of music as the Goldberg. Other than that, my favorite other keyboard piece by Bach is the French Suite No.2.
The Tocatta and Fugue in Dminor is a cool piece as well. I personally like the Passacaglia and Fugue in Cminor the best. Awesome piece. If you ever want to get an AWESOME set of recordings for some of these great organ favorites, get the E. Power Biggs Bach album.
Now, i'm concentrating mostly on Debussy, just finishing up a bunch of his Images (Book II, No. 2 being my favorite)
I'm actually planning on purchasing a 2-manual harpsichord once i move into a bigger house, especially for Scarlatti and Handel.

Oh wow, are you going to invite us round for a harpsichord party I have the same problem as hazmatt, my keyboard skills are "Trivial" too, but it never stopped me collecting keyboards and synth modules. Still, I kind of envy people who can really play them rather than programming stuff in Cubase.

I used to have a Yamaha DX7 - the classic 80's synth.
Now i have a Charles Walter upright and a 7ft. Mason and Hamlin Grand (BB). I did want the 9ft Mason and Hamlin, but at more than $60,000, it was a bit much, plus no room to fit it in a townhouse!!
Of course, my dream would be a nice Bosendorfer. Steinway? Yuck - overpriced!

I like techno and trance music, mostly dj sets :] My favourite djs are Paul van Dyk, Paul Oakenfold, dj Tiesto, Johan Gielen, etc. I like sets from Trance Energy, Nature One etc, and Technics DJ Sets, Tunnel Trance Force.
If you want some mp3s visit these sites:
www tonarm ru ("Technics DJ Set vol 11 cd 1" and "Paul van Dyk - The politics of dancing 2 cd2" are great )

Whee Dan, Emilie Autumn would be proud of you. Or maybe she'd try to kill you and steal it, I'm not sure.

Yeah, I'm in that position too. Well, I don't actually have any hardware yet, but that's what I'm going for. Maybe if I can stay obsessed long enough, I can actually learn to play the keyboard. I'm currently saving money for a keyboard, after which I will work on a MIDIbox of some sort. I don't really know enough (nor do I have the resources) to build a modular synth, but a nice big homebrew patch synth would be amazing.

When I can I am going to design a PWM fed Tube/Digital Leslie. I figure I can level shift the cathodes with the PWM digital without touching the Analog, which is something I know Analog nuts go for. I'm going to use the RC time facility of the BS2 and its simple PWM commands to come up with fast, slow, speed up, brake, dwelling, and whatnot for my dad's Hammond XB2. Should be fun through 2 of my tube amps on overdrive.

Wow hazmatt, that sounds elite What exactly is the PWM going to do- control the motor speed? But you mentioned connecting it to some cathodes somewhere, which suggests you're going to connect it to the tube audio circuitry? My head hurtz.
c4r0: whee for trance! I'm going to fire up the broadband and head over to tonarm.ru tonight While we're on the subject of house music, I noticed Richie Burnett has a movie of an audio modulated SSTC playing "Rapture" by Iio.
Alex: I saw a nice DIY analog synth kit the other day, it didn't look too expensive either:
I am supposed to be doing a half hour set of live(ish) electronic music at a club next month, and right now I'm trying to hook up some sort of collection of gear that I can play live, or at least look as if I'm playing.

Yup, I have that one bookmarked. I may build it, I'm not sure. I'll keep looking until I have money to start the project.

That's cool! Show us your setup when you've got it all together.
