I don't think that is fair Dan that you edited your post to sound less inflammatory than your original post,
and then point the finger at Chris like he's being paranoid.
It really gets down to semantics, I'm sure Chris was not saying that he got six more inches from just coating the secondary, but that there was no other modifications needed to be able to increase the coupling. I'm sure the other readers were not mislead as there was the article attached. It seemed to me that you Dan were inciting a piss fight and then you're crying foul play.

Chris,

Again, nothing personal here. I was merely pointing out something i didn't quite agree with. If thats a crime, than my apologies, but no need for anyone to take it personally. Also, i believe your accusation regarding PUPMAN is unfounded. Definitely something i do not recall, although if you could PM me with the actual archival post, i would be happy to look at it.

Life is short, and we are all one family in this hobby.

Dan if I fly up there to give you a big wet kiss, will you be nicer to me?

Chris, I'd be happy to meet with you anytime that you visit the area and show you around and what projects i'm presently working on.
If you are in the area, just let me know and we can arrange a meeting. With email and forums, its very easy for the tone in messages to be
interpretted incorrectly, and you'll find that once you meet me in person, that i'm really an okay guy. Anyone who has met me in person can surely
vouch for this.

So next time your up this way, just give me a holler.

This will be my last post on this publicly as its offtopic and distracting from the original thread. If you still want to contact me regarding this issue, please contact me via PM. Thank you

Chris, do you use the Satin, gloss, semi-gloss, or clear gloss? Of the minwax that is.

Nice work there Chris, you really do put a great effort into your secondaries, I am looking forward to see it in operation.

I am currently winding my 75x440mm secondary by hand on a broomhandle, my fingers hurt, my arms are tired and im only abit over halfway done :)

I also have the Minwax fast drying polyurethane, while it is on the order of 7-9 bucks for a tiny can, it *will* last you easily for 30 coats on smaller coils. Another way to keep brushes alive are to stick em in a plastic bag, then throw them into a freezer. I've tried this with the polyurethane varnish and it works.
