Hehe, had to google what verizon means...
no, no chance with a cellphone. the room beneath my "lab" is not shielded that way and even if its a room in our cellar, the signal strengh of my cellphone is ok, not perfect but ok. but once you go in the lab and close the door, nothing, no chance to get a signal. the same with radio or other wireless things. i wanted to hear radio while building things, but even at the small window, theres no chance at all to get a signal.. thats what i call a good faraday cage :)

Hey there.

Its been a while but i have new good news not only for this drsstc project.
i was working on some new commercial drsstcs the last few months, developing new driver and bridge boards layouts and so on.

goal of this commercial project was to develop a modulator which uses the midi interface to control up to 4 drsstcs with a laptop.
yesterday i finished this modulator which has some nice functions build in.

its easy to use a microcontroller just to convert the midi signals in something useable for our drsstcs, but its difficult to build a modulator that can also handle the velocity information.

with this new midi modulator its possible to use a midi keyboard to control the drsstc completely. the velocity control works great. you can press the buttons on the keyboard gently to produce small discharges or hard to get some big discharges.

today i will post some of my results here, including a video.

Sounds good though I hope you try to keep your projects open. That way we can still learn from them instead of paying for something that already works and not learning a thing.

Looking forward to see some results wink

Its been a while, but i want to say that this project is not dead at all^^

the drsstc 9 is my basic experimental platform for new driver technologies, like the modular drsstc 10 driver shown in a other project thread.

the toslink and high side driver idea was great, but it seemed that this toslink receivers are not made for this enviroment, so i got rid of all this crap a while ago. i attached a new driver and the bridge is now driven by good old gdt transformers.

as you can see on the youtube vids, the drsstc is still alive. not a single igbt dead since it was build.

Now with incredible mmc death^^ The vids are worth looking

have fun
