interesting idea, might try that. I have no less than 18 broken ATX power supplies, most of which are the infamous "won't start up" problem. I did find that the cheap and nasty resistors on the startup side often go open, have resurrected 3 PS's that way. other thing that breaks is the 5VSB capacitor or drive, they bulge and/or lose value, resulting in shutdown.
