Bad news fellow coilers :( I attempted a primary and it looks very ugly.... the secondary turned out nice and has 5 coats of varnish... however the primary didnt fair so well. I will haev to use it until I have money to buy more plastic and copper tubing :(

Well, I've also had trouble with copper pipe that was used and crappy formed - we had to heat it incandescent for copper to soften and then wind it around round body in order to form it, and it was still rather problematic to form.


Most people get away without this because they buy the pipe in a roll so it is already more or less properly curved.


I would be far more worried about the insane size of your secondary, it looks like you could have at least 3 coils out of it.

Update: Well I finished the bridge and the protection, unfortunately it looks a little messy... I might have to re-do this later to reduce stray induction. I am also currently reconstructing the primary :D as well as constructing the MMC.

You may want to shorten the wires from the GDT, because they will have big inductance and cause shot trough.

Update: I made a new primary cause that otherone was just way way to ugly for me :p This time is almost perfect
