Hi Kreso, I sent you a PM asking about the radar transformer, could you please tell me how big is it and if there is a possibility that the output is more than 5kV?

Thanks, J.M.

That would be really cool!! If it has power rating at least like a MOT and the shipping is not very big, I think I'll take it.

Well you are lucky the transformer stay because some other guy parents didnot allow it :P

Here is transformer compared to 750 mW greenie and 9 V battery. At 220 VAC in i get 4.745 V out on LV side. So 220/4.745 = 46.36 X 220 = 10 200 V

This is a photo of original capacitors which come with it. The whole transformer is nicely swimming in oil. No PCB-s

Edit: I also have 10 kV NST museum quality made for me. I had few of them but this one stay. Its not potted

Thanks for the photos. It looks quite small though, I would guess not more than 100 watts...
Can you measure resistance of primary? If you divide 1500 by primary resistance, you can get very approximate power handling of the transformer (in VA...).

Unfortunately i don't have my Fluke here ( i forgot it at home :P), only this meter i think its busted because reading is wrong.

I will meausre later with Fluke,. If you need however 1 kW then here it is. I use it in museum SGTC-s. And i have a 20 kV 500 mA PT if you need

If it is good for over 1kW that's great. How much would the shipping be (apprroximately)? I sent you my address in PM
