Arcstarter is 15 and I am 15 tomorrow.
I also made a nice ZVS flyback driver.

Does that make up for it? tongue
(by the way, I don't have enough money for a 833C tube and socket)
lol that zvs is quite impressive now just, make a compact pcb and it will b very compact. i also zee you have a big heat sink are you planning on running it of 48 volts because you dont need a heatsink that big for such an effiecien driver, and i suggest if you are going to run it of 48v you use like 13.8 volts for the control cuircutry as this wil save your zeners and other components. if you choose to build it on pcb i have a hint for you. your high current trachs will be better off if you get some 10 lighting single stand wire and solder it to the pcb tracks. but i have to say againg that driver look very clean wink

Thanks. smile
Never have made a PCB before and also I think it's fine for compactness. What's wrong with a big heat sink? The heat sink is big enough for the caps to rest on so they don't just dangle around. Also the ZVS flyback driver I built is meant for two supplies. 12V for the controll circuitry and 12-40 or so volts for the flyback. Today I made a MMC for the tank capacitor because at ~300W input, the caps would get kinda warm... The tank caps is now made of 8 1uF caps arranged so that it totals .5uF.

Kinda straying off topic aren't we? (oh noes, I can't say that I am 14 anymore in less than an hour)

Wasn't the smallest VTTC made by Shawn LG? Who got the record for the largest spark length to secondary coil ratio? IIRC was around 3.5:1.

My quote wasn't targeted enough for absolute clarity I guess. It's impossible to not sound like you're bragging when you both claim your own work is great and mock other's.

And it's not working.

Just kidding with you though. tongue You're younger than I was when I started with this stuff.
