My laser pointer is class II and I can't imagine anything an astronomer could use it for, it would be of no use pointing at stars unless there were some unusually heavy fog. Wikipedia also states "Astronomers are generally gay." making it even more complicated for most people to pose as an anstronomer.

Today it is Lasers...
Tomorrow it is the Sun... Police will soon have the right to enforce arbitrary laws if you are in contact with the sun, or reflective shiny objects such as tinfoil.
=)

Does this law include large arrays of legal lasers that randomly choose the same item to point at?

How sad, Australia has abundant sharks... And now freaking lasers can no longer be legally fixated to such animals heads.

Actually they are not trying to ban CO2 since it is important to the function of the whole machinery. What they are trying to do is to stop more CO2 being added every year.

The natural cycle has been proven to be survivable for billions of years by the fact that we exist. Modifying the natural cycles like this Link2 over a long time will have an unknown outcome. Since all rapid changes will have a negative effect for us (because we have adapted to the current fairly stable situation) it is not likely to be very helpful.
