I adjusted the spark gap, and wow what a difference that made! Im constantly getting discharge now.

Ok, but beeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee careful! Many a TC'er has found that he can keep opening the gap and performance gets better and better and better... until his NST goes POOF!! With only your gap across the transformer and all other coil parts disconnected, you should get a nice steady arc across the gap. If you get nothing, your gap is too wide. A too-wide gap can often still fire when the cap is there because of the voltage multiplication action it creates. This overvoltage can destroy your NST and cause grown men to cry wink

The counterpoise might not be good enough. If you have a large area of cement, wet it down really good with water and then lay some Al foil over the wet area. That would serve as a better ground than a floating aluminum sheet. Just an idea.
I've taken a simple copper pipe and laid in on wet cement and it worked great!!

Here is a link to a video, you can still see some sparks in the secondary. I dont know how to fix it?

Ok then you are ok because it looked like some sort of cardboard and if there is any ink on the cardboard that is slightly conductive you will have flashover issues.
