Camera circuits in parrallel?

Has anyone tried running them in series for higher voltage? Of course each on its own battery, but the the + output of one hooked to the ground of the other, and powering a cap bank of two series stacked caps. If ti makes any difference the middle output that has the + of one and ground of the other charger together would be hooked to the center leg of the cap bank as well, so each charger has its own loop through the cap bank and not through the other charger, basically just floating the one charger up.

Yep, I've run two in series for 660vDC and three in series for almost 1kVDC, although applying much load will stop some of them. I'll bet this has to do with the waveforms being out of sync. The shock from two in series is almost as nasty as the actual flash cap.

You could run them with 555 and a transistor. That would eliminate the stopping problem.

I think that an easier solution would be to add a small cap (1uf would probably do the trick) to the output of each charger, and maybe add some series resistance between the charger and the cap.

That should also solve the problem of the chargers not being in sync
