The strike ring is split, I have about a 1" gap in it. That should be pretty good right?
Oh and I need to fix my toroid, its crooked as all hell!

Should be a lot more than 1". I'd shoot for at least 22.5 degrees gap to prevent voltage from arcing.
Not sure what the diameter of your strike ring is, but it should be a few inches.

The diameter of the strike ring is about 24" or so. 22.5Deg at 12 inches away is about 4 inches. I guess il open it up some.
