singing 555 flyback mosfet question

Well now it is heating with no audio input but if i do get it to audio modulate again i will definately try it with a 10nf cap.

It must be the 555 or related components. The 555 is probably putting out a continuous pulse so the transistor(mosfet) is not oscillating. This is just a guess.

Well then that is a very simple fix i will swap out the 555 and then see if it works. Also is there any way that i can protect the 555 from doing this again when i audio modulate it?

Well the 470 nf capacitor will protect it from over current from audio source.

you may have blown the transistor inside of the 555 that is connected to pin 5 of the 555

There is no transistor connected to pin 5 of the 555. Pin 5 is directly tied to the internal voltage reference divider and comparator input.
