Tungsten arived today, and it works great. Streamers have more than doubled in length to about 2.5", and longest strike so far is about 3". Pics sometime after it's tuned up. The tungsten gets pretty hot after the first 10 seconds of it running, so the fuse holder will be replaced with some copper lug connectors and the tingsten screwed into it. Alot more mass with the copper should cool things down, and a shorter length of tungsten is needed, meaning lower losses from the resistance of the tungsten.

I rebuilt my seconday and oil filled it, so the beaker is gone now. I'll have some copper lugs this afternoon, and hopefully some pics edited into this post to show off how great low voltage coils can be.
