The ripple voltage, in the case where all stage capacitances (C1 through C(2*n)) may be calculated from: Eripple = Iload/(f * C)*n*(n+1)/2 the way this formula is written is a bit confusing.
should it be read as: Eripple = Iload/[(f*C)*n*(n+1)/2] ? or like this: Eripple = [Iload/(f*C)*n*(n+1)]/2?
i plugged some numbers into both and the latter makes more sense; the ripple doesn't increase quite as rapidly (in the second one) as increasingly smaller capacitors are chosen.
just want to make sure i'm using it correctly. thanks
