Chris: Great looking bike..perfect for riding in a sunny location like Arizona...not like here in rainy Belgium!
Also, what is it about motorcycles that make them good cures for the effects of middle-age? Any theories?...the more amusing, the better!
The cure of a Harley for Mid-Life……..
Well that is a good question…..my thoughts…when was younger, was on top of the world…that is had fast cars, fast bikes and fast boats. However the fun and excitement of the speed was catching up with me as my reaction time is a bit slower than in my 20’s. So started to realize that yes “I am mid-life and gets you down a bitâ€.
A big shinny Harley tends to allow me to go fast but not knuckle ripping speed. Most owners of Harleys are middle age and when riding, always get the hand up from passing middle age Harley owners. There is a Harley store right across work and hang there at lunch. There is a lounge with pool tables, free coffee and a bunch of good old boys with same interest….trying to feel younger. About ½ the bikes in Arizona are Harleys. Guess there are a lot of old farts out there, hee hee.
Yes, lived in New York for a few years going to college and not many motorcycles on the street as rain, snow or ice storms. We are very lucky to get over 300 days of sunny weather.
I guess flying down the highway with a big old chrome V-Twin under you legs, fresh air across your face and getting the fist up with other passing Harleys keeps the young feeling in the blood.
You can rent Harley’s for about $100 a day, take one for a spin… you will like it.
