You will get a little more current, but I don't think it's worth running the NST outside of it's specifications and shortning it's life - and possibly killing it just for a tiny bit of extra current. If your looking for better performance (arnt we all?) there are many other things I'd try first. Like an efficient rotary spark gap, trying different sized toroids, move the secondary closer to the primary (until you see arcs racing up the secondary), good connections, better caps, etc.
