Tesla coil, scientific experiments, now a hobby???

It is a fascination by light... Every animal having eyes is fascinated by source of visible photons. Tesla coil produces light which is hardly comparable in its beauty with anything else. Moreover it’s a challenge to make it work! I’ve never wanted to build a tesla coil. I wanted only Marx generator for few scientific experiments and that was also the reason I became to be a member of this forum (to get practical advice). But than I tried one simple coil just for fun and now I’m obsessed…

I used to wish I had one of the "real" chemistry sets that I have read about, which don't exist anymore. But now I'm a senior and the Student Lab Aide, which means I have access to a room-size chemistry set, the chemical storage closet!
Well, maybe not full access; the strong acid cabinet is usually locked. Theres always the strong oxidizers...
