I'm just looking into something like this, although I need to figure out how to mount a ceramic air-cooled tube first.
I'm wondering about the issues like necessity of negative voltage bias to control grid, and required loading capacitor in parallel to the tube to acheive maximum power throughput at limited supply voltage.
I'll also be investigation use of impedance matching networks, for putting more power into base fed resonator with fixed supply voltage.
Vacuum tubes work at high voltages and thus I don't see a special benefit in using a parallel LC of armstrong oscillator to bring the impedance down, then again up by transformer action.
