Everyone uses these caps
They seem to give best energy for cost and are incredibly durable for high-current abuse of tesla coils. Pretty large number of well performing coils are witnesses.
Any other caps are at your own risk... but some people reported success with some other types of caps. Wima FKP1 are decent, ERO vishay FKP's are good too. It's important that caps are polypropylene metalization+foil+metalization for best high current performance. Only foil or double metalized may work, but not as well.
All that is at your own risk and if you want surefire way go for 942C caps.
Don't buy stuff you don't know specs for - most other types of caps won't work.

Will you guys please fill in your locations so you know where you'll have to ship stuff to?
Also, the *intent* of the rules is to stop people from joining up purely to pimp stuff for sale.
Sorry Steve im in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada T6T 1K8
I know the intent of the rules :) It's just I'm at work for 2 weeks in the bush and I like to get stuff ordered so when I get home I can work on it before I have to go back into the bush.

Yes I saw TeslaStuff and metallectric have some of those on ebay.
Thats what I'm currently debating as I need 15 caps in series to give me 30kV voltage To go after those or start using single Maxwell Pulse caps 35kv ones 30nF.
I know whomever is selling those caps is probably reading this, so please give honest opinion.
The end cost ends double for the MMC but the MMC has the added reliablility value.
Thoughts or links to pupman or forums appriciated. I'll keep looking though.
