S***s you though that every friend or family wants to give you their little broken bit of
junk for you to fix.

and it's always "Fix my wife's curling iron!" or "Fix my toaster", never anything cool like
"Fix my nuclear reactor!" cheesey

If you'd like to fix my nuclear reactor (i.e. Fusor), I could use a new vacuum pump, a stainless steel chamber and some conflat fittings.
cheesey

I have a strict policy against working towards fixing any reactor that puts out less than 45.5MWth. tongue

nah, if I could and had the extra cash laying around, or knew of a cryogenics place going out of business nearby, I would in a heartbeat.

Past a certain point, I guess you just have to start refusing those pieces of broken junk. Tell them they are beyond economical repair. Maybe unless some cute girl asks you to fix her hair straighteners or something smile

Scott Adams seems to think that burning seawater will save us all:

"This sort of economic model, plus the story about the guy who discovered a way to burn seawater for energy, makes me think our worries about energy are overblown.

Here’s the link for the seawater guy. It’s amazing."
