Hi Colin,

Your coil is looking exceptionally good! I can't wait to see it in action. My DRSSTC still has not got off the ground. I must start dedicating some time to it.

Cheers,

Paul.

well this is one of the first coils i have taken my time on properly. So i hope to have it finished for derby next year.

I am looking at the pneumatic coupling control now which should give around 75-100mm movement in height.

Looking forward to seeing what you come up with Paul

Cheers

Colin

Hello People,

Well I have started my secondary now. Have made the top insulator, cut to length and glued in plexi disk on top.

It's ready to wind now. Just need to work out what frequency i need to match my primary and cap

Cheers

Colin

Awesome toroid, I know its been said but wow.. Ive been searching around for a way to build/buy a large toroid as im not too happy with the durability of the 7" aluminum ducting I just bought.. So I think ill be putting my 1/2" by 75' roll of copper to good use soon :)

Thanks much for the idea.

Well it's been a while so thought i had better dust off this thread as I will be starting work on the project again very soon.

So far I have nearly finished the driver board and nearly have the half bridge built. MMC Finished and coil tested with 4 kv mot supply (some sparks came off topload so result)

So next I need to finish the driver board and crack on with the bridge.

I have since moved house and have larger workshop so will be a pleasure to get started. I will be starting the build again mid november as I have a competition for another hobby of mine that needs all my time. Once back from holiday on Nov then will be back at it.

Hoping to have complete for next years derby thon but I am also looking at building a big magnifier run from pig or similar as I love the transformer driven gear and enjoy the old school look
