the diodes that got hot; are they the feedback ones or the main rectification ones?

If they are the feedback ones (between the fet and the fbt), then they should not get hot at all; even the little 1/4w axial ones do not get warm. I have a feeling they are not fast enough or something if they are getting warm...

they are the feedback diodes, the type that are mounted on a heatsink in a computer PSU. they are common cathode diodes, i have two mounted on a relatively small heatsink; and i tied the anodes togetheron each diode. maybe i could take out one anode on each diode and see what happens

I use a similar acrylic tube for a 12kv 20mA NST which has run all day outdoors. There are perforations in the top cap of the tube to allow heat out and the bottom is not sealed so air can convect out. No problems withthe acrylic yet.

wouldn’t be worried about ozone, the production is very low even in a closed space. Lets see some more pics!

nice ladder TDU!!!

after a while the ozone irritates my throat, ill have to figure out a way to vent it out the back and let it dissapate. i still need a 30v transformer, right now im running it off 2 24v trans. in parallel

do thoes pots affect the output of the flyback? one's 'focus' and the other is 'screen' i also have to get new diodes, these ones just get too hot, im sure the arcs will be better, even with a new transformer.

no, the knobs don't affect it, just the voltage the comes out on some of the other wires hanging off the flyback.

Looks nice!

btw, if in need of uf4007's I can ship you 4 of them for free, just ask shades
