I once had my apartment management call Home Land Security on me for having tesla coils, and random science stuff. I wasnt home, but when I returned I found my place a mess! A manager came by to tell me what had happend. There was the SWAT team, hazmat, and a host of other officers. They found all my high voltage stuff, chemicals, and uranium and told them I had nothing illegal, and to leave me alone! That all served to scare me really bad, as well as put a speicial file into my record! They said although I wasnt charged for anything, that anytime Home Land is called, they must file a lenghty report on the person. Gee thanks! Now future employers will see think I "play" with chemicals and uranium!

I think that the general population is very simple minded and act the way they do due to ignorance. They fear things they dont understand (Human nature). The drama we incur from our "hanky panky" just comes with the territory...

Yes a record that says you had nothing illegal in your possession.. So what are you worrying about. I highly doubt that 'future employers' can request your homeland security records...

You clearly do not live in the United States. DHS is the new Big Brother, and employers can absolutely access your federal records for doing background checks.

The Kwik-e-mart might not care, but getting a DMAT clearance, for example, would turn up this report.

I know because I've been through it.

It really is too bad... but, high voltage/electronics is something I am still struggling to understand and is not my primary hobby. My primary hobbies are pyrotechnics, chemistry (some scary stuff; cryogenics, radioactives, toxic stuff), energetic materials, all of that stuff. High voltage sort of fits in, no scarier than any of the former. I think high voltage sounds better than the former, as then I become a 'bomb maker' or 'meth cook'...

No legal troubles... yet. Shouldn't be either.
