Yup, that was a good book, as were the Engineer's Mini-Notebooks by the same author.
That book by Forrest Mimms actually has quite a few proven large mistakes in it, rendering some of the projects useless. My uncle (an electronics teacher) gave it to me because it was causing to many problems in his class...

Oh really? Well that's unfortunate, as it is presented so nicely. I haven't looked at it for years, it was one of the first books I read when I was, um, getting started in electronics. At the time, I didn't know enough to be confused by anything wrong with it. :)

Mine's pretty messy.
I had the Gibson poster LOONNNGGG before Harold and Kumar. I got it from the NAMM show, so im no poser....heh.
My drafting table always looks like electronic vomit, but that's mostly due to my lack of energy after college stresses.
I have to pile books and papers on top of the books on my 3 shelves because, well, I have a lot of paperwork. We had to get another bookshelf that goes to the ceiling for the remainder of my technical books and EE notes. Half of that bookshelf is mine as well.
I have my little test equipment stash between my dresser and the 4x12. It has a Data Pulse generator (I think its not working), Systron 6152, BK 10 Meg generator, and my prized Tek 2430A W 2402 Tekmate mounted & software ready to go at all times (portable...though the beast weighs 30 lbs. OOfff!!!! ).
